Eight students flew to Oahu recently to compete in Hawai'i History Day. Thanks to teachers Rondy Arquero, Clint Gima, Keith Imada, Ann Mesina and Janyce Omura, these students created projects that advanced to the State level.
Kristine Omura answers judges' questions about her Senior division documentary Digging, Diverting and Delivering East Maui Irrigation: An Engineering Marvel that won first prize. Dane Oshiro was her project partner. They may now participate in the Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland at College Park in June.
Chelsey Borge and Jamal Garcia placed third for their web page The Ginaca Express Brings Pineapple Success!
Senior displays (top photos) will be on view in the MHS library from April 19.
Congratulations to all MHS participants!
